The Chicago White Sox have reached an agreement on a six-year, $68 million deal with Cuban slugger Jose Abreu, according to sources.

The 26-year-old first baseman defected in August.

He hit .453 with 33 homers and 93 RBIs in 66 games during a historic 2010-11 season in Cuba, after which he was named the Cuban league's Most Valuable Player.
