Roy Halladay isn't sure what the future holds after he recorded the shortest outing of his Major League career on Monday night.

Halladay threw 16 pitches, recording one out, against the Miami Marlins.

He will not pitch again this season because of right arm fatigue and recently admitted to being diagnosed with a genetic diet-related illness that has weakened his body.

"I was trying to use everything I could to get the ball to the plate," said Halladay, who will be a free agent this winter.

None of the 16 pitches Halladay tossed for the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night surpassed 83 m.p.h. Only five were thrown for strikes.

"I don't know what the future is going to hold," Halladay said, "but I want to go somewhere that wants me and somewhere that is going to have a shot. I hope that's here. Worst-case scenario, I start throwing and things aren't happening the way they're supposed to, then I'm going to be honest with whoever's interested and make a decision from there."

He will not pitch again in 2013 because of right arm fatigue. He admitted to recently being diagnosed with a genetic diet-related illness that weakened his fragile state.
