The San Francisco Giants have decided that they will make qualifying offers to top free agents Tim Lincecum and Hunter Pence, according to sources.

The Giants are first trying to lock up Pence to a long-term deal. They are believed to be open to signing him to a contract similar to the four-year, $56 million deal Nick Swisher signed with the Cleveland Indians.

Pence won't accept the qualifying offer, which is expected to be for $13.8 million for 2014.

Lincecum is expected to turn down the qualifying offer as well, given the likely availability of a long-term deal.
