The Philadelphia Phillies have a weak and unproven supporting cast around their biggest stars this season because of all the money committed to the group.

Philadelphia's three aces -- Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay -- will earn $64.5 million this season, while Ryan Howard and Chase Utley will make a combined $40 million.

That explains why they have had to rely on outfielders like Domonic Brown, Ben Revere, Lance Nix, John Mayberry, Jr., Ezequiel Cabrera and utility man Kevin Frandsen.
