The Giants continue to discuss possible contract extensions with Bruce Bochy and Brian Sabean.

"It won't be one year," president Larry Baer said of the deals.

Sabean and Bochy are currently signed through 2014.

Baer said the short timetable between the World Series and spring training held up the talks.

"Honestly, literally, it was a confluence of good things," Baer said. "We won the World Series. Immediately after the World Series we focused on the free agents. We just haven't had time. The easier route was just to pick up the options in '14, then talk, as we're talking now, about beyond 2014."
