Curtis Granderson is entering the final year of his contract and his future with the Yankees remains in question.
"I would love to play with the Yankees next year," Granderson said. "It's been great. I've enjoyed my time here, and if the opportunity presents itself I would love to remain."
However, he added, "It's out of my hands. All I can control is getting myself ready for the season and hopefully help this team win a championship."
It seems as though the Yankees are inclined to let Granderson walk, for a couple of reasons. Hal Steinbrenner is looking to cap the team's payroll at $189 million, which seems to make it impossible to retain both Granderson and Robinson Cano.
