The Brewers are in need of a first baseman as Mat Gamel and Corey Hart will both begin the season injured.

However, they are not in discussions to acquire Mike Carp, who the Mariners say they are close to trading.

Milwaukee is currently looking at internal options -- Taylor Green, Hunter Morris and Alex Gonzalez.
