The Indians agreed to terms with Michael Bourn on a four-year, $48 million contract on Monday.

It marks the second major free agent contract that Cleveland has issued this offseason. They signed Nick Swisher to a four-year, $56 million deal in January.

Bourn batted .274 with nine homers, 57 RBIs and 42 steals last season for the Braves. He must pass a physical later this week for the deal to become official.

The Mets were chasing Bourn as well, offering the same $48 million deal as Cleveland, according to a major league source. However, New York wasn't willing to to give up the 11th overall pick in the draft as a penalty for signing the free agent.
