The Padres are one of the teams that have discussed Giancarlo Stanton with the Marlins.

Stanton, 23, hit .290 with 37 homers and 86 RBI in 123 games for the Marlins last season.

He isn't arbitration eligible until after the 2014 season and can’t be a free agent until after the 2016 season.
