The Rangers have agreed to a one-year deal with Geovany Soto pending a physical, according to a source.

He is expected to undergo a physical in the coming days.

Texas acquired Soto from the Cubs at midseason. He batted .196 with five homers and 25 RBIs in 47 games for the Rangers.

The Rangers could not reach a deal before Friday night, so they non-tendered the catcher to avoid going to arbitration.
