The Mets won't spend freely this offseason, but they have significant decisions to make on the futures of David Wright and R.A. Dickey.

Ken Davidoff of the New York Post writes that it would be foolish of the franchise to issue extensions to both stars simply to satisfy fans.

"The Mets appear considerably more open to a Wright contract extension than to one for Dickey, and that makes sense. Wright has the longer history with the team and the more definable market," he writes.
