Sandy Alderson said Friday that the Mets will need a resolution in its talks with both R.A. Dickey and David Wright.

The team is trying to extend the contracts of both, while they are reportedly discussing Dickey with other teams.

New York recently made Wright an offer, and his agents made a counter-proposal, sources said. It was reported on Saturday that Dickey should receive a two-year offer soon.

"It's still very early," Alderson said. "But between Thanksgiving and the winter meetings (Dec. 3-6) — and (during) the winter meetings themselves — we need to have a little more clarity than we have now."
