Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. exercised the $5M 2013 option on Carlos Ruiz and declined options on Ty Wigginton ($4M) and Jose Contreras ($2.5M). Each Wigginton and Contreras each will receive $500,000 buyouts.

The club also declined a $5.5M option on Placido Polanco, who gets a $1M buyout, according to an ESPN.com report.
