There has been some controversy over the format of the division series in this year's postseason, with the higher seed playing the first two games on the road before hosting the final three contests.

Teams have argued that a fifth game is rarely needed and in some cases, the higher seed may only enjoy a single home game if a team is swept.

Buster Olney clarified on Sportscenter that the division series will revert back to the usual 2-2-1 format next season with the higher seed hosting Games 1 and 2, the lower seed getting Games 3 and 4 and the higher seed hosting a possible deciding Game 5.
