Bob Melvin decided to send Tommy Milone to the mound for Game 2 against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon despite the pitcher's stronger numbers at home.

The A's are playing the first two games of their ALDS at Comerica Park in Detroit.

"We feel comfortable wherever he pitches," Melvin said. "I think this ballpark is a lot like ours. It's fairly big, pretty deep to center field. But based on some of the injuries, we just felt like he's the right guy, period."

Milone was 6-6 with a 4.83 ERA on the road this season and 7-4 with a 2.74 ERA in Oakland.
