Nick Swisher is likely to receive a one-year, $13.3 million tender from the Yankees this winter.

Doing so will assure draft pick compensation if Swisher leaves New York as a free agent. The New York Post writes that the Yankees would love the Swisher to accept, allowing them to retain him for 2013 without a long-term commitment.

However, Swisher appears unlikely to do so. He changed representation recently and could easily find a multi-year deal worth more than $13 million annually on the open market.
