In the midst of what could become an MVP season, Miguel Cabrera became the first player in baseball to reach 100 RBI this season.
Cabrera reached the mark on an RBI single in the seventh inning of the team's 8-4 win over the Twins on Tuesday night.
Cabrera is the third player in Detroit history to collect at least 100 RBIs in five or more consecutive seasons.
"He'll have five more with 100 unless he gets hurt," manager Jim Leyland said. "He can hit the ball 450 feet to 500 feet, and he can hit it over the first baseman's head or down the left-field line. Just a great hitter."
Cabrera is hitting .326/.388/.581 with 29 home runs in 2012.
