The Nationals plan to sit Stephen Strasburg before the end of the season, a decision that some of his teammates don't agree with.
Washington has insisted that they will put Strasburg, who is pitching in his first full season since Tommy John surgery, on the shelf after he reaches an innings limit.
"You take the best pitchers off any team that has a chance to make it to the postseason and it's devastating," Mark DeRosa said.
"At the same time, we knew it going in. You kind of hoped the better we played the more the decision changed to the opposite."
Strasburg has thrown 133 innings so far in 2012.
"If there's a decision to be made, it's their decision," Michael Morse added. "I'm pretty sure whatever we think isn't going to matter."
