Evan Longoria has returned to the Rays after a lengthy absence because of a lingering hamstring injury. Despite the impact the Longoria has on the field and at the plate, he claims he isn't the team's savior. "I'm not the savior," Longoria said. "I'm really happy to be back. And hopefully I'm able to change the complexion of the lineup. Maybe not go out and hit two home runs a night, but maybe allow other guys to see some better pitches and allow them an opportunity to get going. ... Hopefully I can provide some kind of spark and get the offense going, but I try not to put all the weight on my shoulders." The Rays need Longoria, no matter what he thinks. They are six games back of the Yankees in the American League East and sit more than a game back in the Wild Card race.
