The Red Sox are hovering around .500, but Bobby Valentine views the team has a playoff club. Boston is currently nine games back of New York in the American League East and more than four games out of the Wild Card race. "I think we're a playoff team and I think we're going to be there before the season is over," Valentine told WEEI in Boston. A radio host suggested that the Red Sox would need around 89 wins, meaning they will need to go 34-17 the rest of the way. "Yeah, of course," Valentine said. "Of course, we can do better than that. I don't think that's so optimistic, I think it's realistic if we stay healthy. Right now we have some concerns in the bullpen. If that stabilizes I think there's big runs ahead."
