The Phillies saved money for the future by dealing Shane Victorino, Hunter Pence and Joe Blanton, but they still have a lot of money committed to just nine players for the 2013 season. The Phillies have $132 million committed to those nine players. "We are still trying to improve our club for this year and beyond," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. The Phillies placed Cliff Lee on waivers and he was reportedly claimed, but Amaro says the left-hander won't be dealt. Letting Lee go could have saved Philadelphia $95 million going forward.
