Brian Cashman said he has found a replacement for Alex Rodriguez at third base during his time on the disable list. Rodriguez will miss 6-to-8 weeks after suffering a broken hand on Tuesday night against the Mariners. "Eric Chavez is the solution," Cashman said. "Chavez is the solution and Jayson Nix is the solution, and whoever we have in the farm system are going to have to be the solution," the GM added. "I'm very comfortable with Eric Chavez as Alex's replacement." The Yankees also recalled Ramiro Pena from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to shore up their bench in Rodriguez's absence.
