Baseball's trading season is here, but Jim Leyland isn't expecting any help this month.
"I don't count on anything," Leyland said. "We're supposed to be good enough the way we are. If by chance something would fall in our lap that made sense, that would be good.
"But at the same time, I'm worried about just getting it done with what we've got. I'm not worried about it. That's what we've got to do."
Part of the problem involved in trades is the complexity of contracts, not to mention the competition with other teams looking to trade up.
"Compensation picks are totally different," Leyland said. "Salaries: Are you renting a guy for two months? You've got a guy with a longer term contract, that's different.
"There's a whole bunch of different scenarios in play for (general manager) Dave (Dombrowski). He's got it all figured out. He knows what he's doing. But it's not that easy."
