Josh Hamilton crushed inside pitches early in the season, hitting at a record pace.
Through the end of May, more than 22 percent of the pitches Hamilton saw were inside. Of those 149, more than 34 percent were in the strike zone. He was 15 for 40 with eight home runs and a slugging percentage of 1.025 on inside pitches.
Over the last two weeks, pitchers have thrown inside to Hamilton on just 23 of 193 pitches, less than 12 percent. Four have been in the strike zone.
