The Blue Jays have accused a former top executive of breaking a confidentiality agreement by discussing the team's financial and attendance records with the media after he was fired. The claim was made against Patrick Elster, Toronto's former vice president of ticket sales in court documents, in a lawsuit filed in Ontario Superior Court. Elster is suing the Blue Jays for $135,000 for breaching the terms of his severance agreement. He worked for the team from December 2003 until June 9, 2008. A day after his firing, he agreed to a severance agreement with the Blue Jays. The wording of the agreement promises to play a pivotal role in his legal claim. It's unclear why the Blue Jays fired Elster.
