Yadier Molina received a five-year, $75 million extension from the Cardinals earlier this week, putting him under contract through 2017. The deal makes him the second-highest paid catcher behind Joe Mauer. "I was still thinking it was a business. My idea was to stay here. My commitment was to stay here with this organization because I know how great it is," Molina said. Molina, 29, is certain to play the majority, if not all, of his career with the team that drafted him in 2000 and promoted him to the major leagues in 2004. "It's everything. I grew up here," he said. "[They] drafted me in 2000. I feel good here. It was my first choice to stay here, and I'm glad we got it done."
