The Red Sox have offered David Ortiz $12.65 million in arbitration for the 2012 season, but the slugger wants $16.5 million. Boston hasn't had an actual arbitration case since 2002 and Ortiz is still hoping that he can sign a multiyear deal with the Red Sox this winter. Ortiz didn't like the two-year, $18 million offer Boston made last month.
