In the month since the Angels signed first baseman Albert Pujols and starting pitcher C.J. Wilson, the team has sold 3,000 new full season tickets packages. That represents an increase of 50% from a similar period in 2011. The Angels have also sold the equivalent of 2,300 full season tickets in mini-plans since adding Pujols. December is "generally a slow time" for ticket sales, according to Robert Alvarado, the team's vice president of marketing and ticket sales. "Sales usually peak the first two weeks of March and tail off in early April, so we're still on the upside of the bell curve," Alvarado said.
