Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak expects to meet with Dan Lozano, the agent for Albert Pujols, before the end of the week. The general managers' meetings are taking place in Milwaukee currently. St. Louis has hired Mike Matheny as their new manager in the wake of their World Series victory and the retirement of longtime manager Tony La Russa. Talks between the Cardinals and Pujols broke down before the start of the 2011 season, meaning the future Hall of Famer would hit the open market. "Dan and I have touched based with one another, but we haven't had a face-to-face (meeting) or anything of that nature," Mozeliak said. "At some point, we will. Our goal is to try to find a way to keep Albert Pujols, and that's what we'll focus on as we move forward." Pujols, who turns 32 in January, rebounded from a slow start and a midseason wrist injury to hit .299 with 37 homers and 99 RBIs.
