The Orioles are close to officially naming Dan Duquette as their next general manager, according to two sources.
Duquette, formerly a general manager for the Expos and Red Sox, interviewed in Baltimore on Friday.
He helped build Montreal into the best team in the National League in 1994, but that season ended in August with a strike.
Duquette later became the general manager of the Red Sox, and was the executive that made the deal to bring Pedro Martinez to Boston.
