Manny Ramirez will have to change his plans to play winter ball in the Dominican Republic, according to a source. Ramirez, who abruptly retired earlier this season when notified that he was facing a 100-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball's drug policy, has unresolved violations and the Dominican League is affiliated with Major League Baseball. Because of that, Bud Selig considers him ineligible to play in the league this winter. If Ramirez wants to play baseball again, he'll have to play for an independent league club unaffiliated with Major League Baseball.
