The Yankees expect to have third baseman Alex Rodriguez back in the lineup on Friday night against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Rodriguez, who hasn't played since last Friday because of his lingering sprained left thumb, has not picked up a bat since. Whether or not he plays will depend on how batting practice goes. He originally suffered the injury on Aug. 21, his first day back from a six-week absence following knee surgery, and has already take a cortisone shot to play through the ailment. "There's no question, you're going to have to just play through it," said Rodriguez, who will likely have to deal with the issue during the postseason.
