Jake Peavy has been shut down for the remainder of the season by the White Sox, according to a source. The move doesn't come as much of a surprise as Peavy seemed to be looking forward to the offseason after his last start. "I look forward to a nice winter and a nice comeback season," Peavy said Tuesday. "At the same time, I'm grinding through this one. It has been a grind. Some good, some not so good." Peavy made his first start of the season on May 11 after returning from surgery to have his latissimus dorsi muscle reattached, a procedure that no major league pitcher had ever undergone.
