Freddy Garcia won't pitch for the Yankees on Sunday after cutting a finger on his pitching hand. Garcia's cut was a "kitchen accident." The development delays New York's decision on cutting their starting rotation down to five pitchers. Phil Hughes, who started Saturday, and A.J. Burnett were believed to be on the block. "I told everyone I was going to tell them I was going to have a decision tomorrow as far as what we were going to do and sometimes decisions have a way of working their way out," manager Joe Girardi said. The cut prevents Garcia from throwing his splitter so he will be skipped in the rotation for now. With Burnett set to start Sunday, after being slated to go Monday, the schedule for Kansas City is now Ivan Nova, Bartolo Colon and CC Sabathia.
