Yankees closer Mariano Rivera allowed a two-run home run to Bobby Abreu in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, an extreme rarity. Rivera has allowed only 64 home runs in his 17-year career. That calculates to a home run every 68 opponent at-bats. Prior to Tuesday night, Rivera had only allowed one homer to a former teammate. Mike Stanley hit one off him on July 18, 1998. Abreu and Rivera played together for three seasons (2006-2008).
