Pirates catching prospect Tony Sanchez has not hit well for Double-A Altoona this season. The right-hander is hitting .240/.350/.317 with four home runs and 30 RBI this season, but he has been worse as of late. Since July 8, Sanchez is hitting .222/.364/.333. His plate discipline has allowed him to get on base regularly. He has 34 walks against 44 strikeouts this season. Mainly a singles hitter, the Miami native has 53 one-baggers among his 65 hits. Pittsburgh drafted him with the fourth overall pick of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft and signed him to a $2.5 million signing bonus.
