Todd Helton hit a unique milestone on Thursday, he played his 2,000th game for the Rockies.
"The thing I'm most proud about is that it's all been here," Helton said before playing his 2,000th major league game.
"It's kind of hard to put your head around. A lot of times driving to the ball field, a lot of times I've had to put the game before my family. ... I think about those things. But I'm very proud to say I played in 2,000 big-league games."
Helton is hitting at .306 and is on pace for 18 home runs and 68 RBIs after a rough 2010 season.
"It helps that I'm not hitting .215 if that's what you're asking," he said. "I have fun when we win. Obviously I want to play well, but I'd rather take .240 and two home runs if we win a World Series. It doesn't matter at this point."
