The Pirates welcomed the largest crowd in PNC Park history on Saturday in the team's 6-4 victory over the Red Sox.
There were 39,483 fans in attendance, including many in support of Boston.
"It's a great feeling out there right now," manager Clint Hurdle said. "The guys are really embracing the fans and the crowd and are playing with a lot of energy. They almost are playing like they are six and in the backyard. There's just a lot of people in the backyard."
Pittsburgh is two games over .500 and will attempt to sweep an American League team for the first time since 2001 on Sunday in the series finale.
