Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter underwent his first radiation treatment on Tuesday. "I am happy to report that it went very well!" Carter's daughter, Kimmy Bloemers, wrote in a journal entry on a private family website. "He is ready and determined to take on these six weeks (of radiation) like GAME SIX (maybe there is a small coincidence there all you Met fans!!) ... Pray for dad to have enormous peace and pray for the radiation to SHRINK THESE TUMORS!!" Carter, who is currently in a battle with inoperable Stage 4 glioblastoma, will also need to undergo a year of chemotherapy, which he started in pill form on Saturday.
