Brandon Webb took a huge step towards making an appearance for the Rangers on Tuesday. The right-hander, who has endured a long road back from shoulder surgery, went six innings in an Arizona Rookie League. It marked his longest outing since 2008. Webb threw 79 pitches against the San Diego rookie team. He allowed four runs, only one earned, on six hits, striking out five, walking none and hitting two batters. "Today I felt like I was able to locate more," he said. "The other times I was just throwing it down the middle, trying to get velocity and not really worrying about where it went and stuff like that. Today it was more about pitch-ability." Webb has not pitched in a major league game since taking the mound for the Diamondbacks on Opening Day of the 2009 season.
