Josh Hamilton will shag balls on Friday, which means he could play the outfield for the Rangers as soon as this weekend. Hamilton is expected to serve as the team's designated hitter against the Royals on Friday night. He went on the disabled list with a fractured bone in his arm on April 13 before returning Monday. "He said he wanted to get him a couple of days out there running balls," manager Ron Washington said. "He's only ran them down [Tuesday], so we'll see how he does Friday and what he thinks."
