Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton went through batting practice on Friday, an important step as he attempts to return to action from a hairline fracture in a bone in his upper arm. Hamilton took 40 to 50 swings and said he could finish his swing fine and felt good. He sustained the fracture sliding headfirst into home plate in Detroit on April 12. "The biggest thing I was worried about was timing because I hadn't seen a live arm for a while, but the timing was good," Hamilton said. "I wasn't going to get balls, but was letting them come to me. I had good balance and overall it went very, very well." At some point next week, he'll have another CT scan so Rangers physician Dr. Keith Meister can see the shoulder and monitor his progress.
