Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez had a precautionary MRI on his left oblique/lower back that came back "clean," during Sunday night's game.
"He had an MRI and it came back clean. Just a precautionary one, so we'll see how he is (Tuesday)," manager Joe Girardi said.
Rodriguez pulled himself out of Saturday's game after grounding out in the bottom of the sixth inning. He had made a diving stop at third in the second inning.
"I know I felt it most after the dive (Saturday), but it just kind of went from a little tight and then progressed to a little bit of an oblique feeling," Rodriguez said. "The minute I felt I had any real chance to hurt myself and risk any significant time, I told Joe I should go take care of this."
He hasn't been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.
