Adrian Gonzalez singled in his spring debut with the Red Sox on Saturday.
Gonzalez swung at the first pitch he saw from Florida's Josh Johnson and lined a single over the head of shortstop Donnie Murphy and into left-center field.
He also hit a sacrifice fly before being lifted from the game after two innings.
"I don't like to get ahead of myself," said Gonzalez, who had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder five months ago, "but one thing I've said all along is that I'd be ready for Opening Day."
