Mark Teixeira announced Wednesday morning that he has severed ties with longtime agent Scott Boras. Teixeira, who is entering the third season of an eight-year $180 million contract, said Boras "obviously has done a lot for my career, but sometimes I felt like I was Mark Teixeira, Scott Boras client, and not Mark Teixeira, baseball player." Teixeira added that his business relationship with Boras had "run its course," but said he has yet to hire a new representative. "Right now, the next contract is not on my mind," Teixeira said.
