Major League Baseball will not make another significant loan to the Mets, according to a report by The New York Times.
The Mets need money to help cover operating expenses. The club received a loan from MLB to help cover costs back in November.
That loan has been reported to be $25 million.
Mets ownership is being hounded by a multimillion dollar lawsuit filed by the trustee trying to recover money for victims of the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme.
