Michael Young reported to the Rangers on time Saturday despite his recent trade request.
Young said he wanted to focus on baseball, but didn't rescind his desire for a trade.
Texas general manager Jon Daniels and president Nolan Ryan indicated that they believe Young would still accept a trade, but both said their expectation is that Young will be in the Rangers' starting lineup on Opening Day.
"After all this stuff, I'm a baseball player," Young said. "This is what I love to do, this is what I am passionate about doing. I'm excited to be here. I want to now just go out and play. After all this stuff is done, there's a season to be played."
