New manager Terry Collins says the Mets need to remain focused despite all the drama surrounding the legal issues of the team's ownership.
"It's like [chief operating officer] Jeff [Wilpon] said: 'This is out of our control,' " Collins said.
"We can only worry about the stuff that we can control, and that's our performance on the field. We're going to make sure that is brought across the first [official] day down here."
Pitchers and catchers officially report next Tuesday, but 32 players, including minor leaguers, worked out voluntarily at New York's complex Wednesday.
