Outfielder Jacque Jones was expected to miss the Chicago Cubs' weekend series in Pittsburgh to give his sore right hamstring time to heal. Jones had to come out of Tuesday's game because of the injury and an MRI revealed a mild strain. "I've learned from hamstrings that when a guy says he feels good, you give him a couple extra days," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said Thursday. "You invariably end up topping a ball and have to beat it out. It happens every time. You may not have an infield-hit situation for a month and as soon as you hurt your legs, it happens. I've learned to give them a couple extra days." Jones did take batting practice Thursday, but agreed he'll likely miss playing the Pirates. "I don't want to ruin myself for two-to-three weeks," he said.
