The Red Sox placed pitcher David Wells and first baseman Hee-Seop Choi on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Wells, who was 15-7 last year and had offseason surgery on his right knee, was placed on the DL retroactive to March 28. He is expected to make his first start April 12.
